Strawberry Ice Cream with Sauce

INGREDIENTS:
  • 150 grams sugar
  • 150 Ml water
  • 250 grams fresh cream
  • Strawberry coloring
  • 2 tablespoons strawberry essence
  • 5 eggs
 

Method:

Heat sugar and water till sugar dissolves.  Once the mixture becomes thick remove from fire and cool.  Beat egg whites till stiff and fold into the cream.   Add this to the sugar mixture.  Add vanilla essence and coloring.  Freeze until half set.  Remove and beat again and re-freeze.  Serve with sauce.

For Sauce:

INGREDIENTS:
  • ½ tin strawberries (fresh one may also be used)
  • 2 tablespoons icing sugar
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
 

Method:

Put strawberries in the mixer and run mixer till strawberries form a puree.  Remove and add icing sugar and lemon juice.  Mix well and serve with ice cream.
